Computer

In Computer or IT class, I did various projects and assignments. In first semester, Mr. Sean and Mr. Karl taught the class. At first it was hard to adapt the computer class. During the first semester, I made a log which is the section that writes about weekly objectives. I first wrote it on wiki and then later I did it on g-mail account.
I also made wetpaint and it was like blog.

I never tried Abdobe Photoshop and this was my first time learning it. It was interesting and useful program. In this class, I started from the foundation of the photoshop. Then, by using photoshop skill that I learned in class, all the students made web page and it is located at http://www.iisstudents.net/ Moreover, I learned Image Ready and FTP.

In the second semester, I continuously wrote log and typing speed. I made g-mail account for I.I.S. and I began to use documents at this site. I learned a favicon, and multimedia. In my opinion, favicon project was the nicest one.

It was really interesting to learn about Windows Movie Maker, but I failed to make it work. I was not sure what was problem with my video and I was quite depressed. There was also a logo contest which I did not make it, but it was interesting project.

Mr. Sean found out a good site which I can provide rice when I do vocabulary tests. Finally, my last two projects were desktop publishing: making a IIS calender and information about Seoul for foreigners. I had to add some pictures for calender and the photoshop skill was really useful.

This year was my first computer class. I always wanted to take this class, but it always overlapped with other subjects. It was nice experience to learn about computer and how the programs function. I gained some knowledge about it.

AP Studio Art

Art has been important in my life. Art is hard for me, but this is the subject that I like and should like for rest of my life. Ap Studio art is basically drawing 24 pieces. Drwaing 24 pieces were AP test and I decided to do 2D -Design pieces. All the drawings have to be realted into 'design' somehow. First 12 set of drawings should have topic and it is named as 'Concentration Pieces'. And, the other 12 set of drawings were called 'Breadth Pieces'. I struggled to finish 24 pieces, but I finished those requirements.

I used various materials for Breadth pieces like pencil, color pencil, conte and acrylic. My topic was about 'Korean Zodiac'. For the concentration pieces, I first drew 12 Korean Zodiac animals in pencil, then I scanned those 12 animamls. After that I gathered into the programed called, Quarks by using Apple computer. I also went some museums in Korea. I hope this year's AP score is better than last year's. I believe there should be more supports for art-students. :)

Chemistry 12

Chemistry class was one of my favorite classes. In this year, I think I learned some new topics about it for instance, naming compund in Latin, titration, acid&base, nucleus, etc. In the beginning, I covered what I learned in 10th grade, but since I could not remember everything from 10th, it was useful for me to review the lessons and learned other new topic

In the class, I took several quizzs and unit tests. Additionally, I did labs and those labs were very interesting. Some experiments were confusing, but overall it they were enjoyable. I personally liked the 'Titration' experiment the most, but there was one experiment that whole class could not make it which was soap. Making a soap was the task, but the liquid was expired, and everyone in class failed to make one. I also liked the atmosphere of the class.

AP Calculus

Ap Calculus was the hardest class in high school. I failed some tests and quizzs. Everything was new for me and I felt as if I became a baby again. Now, I am not sure what grade I will receive in this quater. I am afraid of it, but I believe it is going to be okay.

Although it was hard, I enjoyed studying about calculus. Memorizing the formulas were difficult. However, I thinks it is fun to learn new subject. This year it was mainly about 'Derivative' and 'Integration'. I had to apply these two topics while solving the math problems. These days, I am used to calculus and feel more comfortable even though it is still hard to understand. :)
Anyway, Calculus grade affected my GPA, but I do not regret for taking this course.

Sociology

In first semester, I learned about American Government. For second semester, I learned Sociology. In American Government, I get to know about government system and vocabularies which are related to it. American Government was sometimes confusing, but it was interesting subject. I wanted to learn about this subject since I am going to live in the U.S.A.

In Sociology class, I learned the sociological terms and people. I remember especially about Karl Marx, because I did the group presentation. Personally, Sociology is a difficult subject, but I had a chance for learning only one semester. I felt that I did not learn in depth, but overall it was good chance to know about the beginning of Sociology.
In this class, I did some presentations, tests, and MUN assignments.

English Class

In English class, I did various assignments. The assignments: debate, group project about advertisement, writing assignments about fortune cookie are the most memorable. I put a lot of efforts with Sohpia and Mike in the advertising assignment, and the presentation was unforgettalbe. There were a lot of other assignments beside these. I also read books about Barabbas and The Dwarf, but it was difficult to understand for me.
The English class was very interesting to me. I guess Mr. Bell had a different teaching style and helped the students a lot with editings, etc. So, it was a new experience for me. I gained some new knowledges.
